Rooted in funk, soul, disco, and dub reggae, he found house music to be the ultimate vessel for his musical vision—one synonymous with depth, groove, adventure, experimentation, freedom, and originality. Though his initial house music production experiments began as early as 1991, his creative path has been far from smooth. Following a Beatport deep tech chart-topper in 2017, Johnny embarked on a six-year spiritual hiatus to strip away life's clutter. He relocated to a remote lake in Bali, where he embraced a solitary existence dedicated entirely to his craft. Writing music six hours a day, seven days a week, he achieved a staggering output of almost 400 tracks in just 33 months. It was finally at the end of 2023 that Johnny felt he had truly mastered his deep and underground sound.
